1st IMCES Day

IMCES Logo

Since its foundation in 2012, IMCES has built a steadily growing user community with outstanding scientific potential. To further strengthen this network and foster interdisciplinary exchange, we are launching the IMCES Day as a regular platform for scientific dialogue at all levels.

The aim of this event is to showcase the full range of imaging and analysis services available at IMCES and to encourage discussion of potential applications and collaborative opportunities among users.

We warmly invite all local scientists with an interest in the fascinating world of bioimaging to attend — whether you are an experienced IMCES user or simply wish to learn more about our equipment, services, and expertise.

The program will feature several lecture sessions in which IMCES users present project-based imaging and analysis strategies from the fields of light and electron microscopy. We are currently seeking additional speakers who would like to present their projects to the expert audience. If you are interested, please indicate this in the registration form. We will contact you for further planning.

The program will be complemented by invited keynote speakers:
Prof. Katrin Heinze (Centre for Integrative and Translational Bioimaging, Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg) will present her work developing light microscopy techniques across scales, and applying them in neuroscience, cardiovascular science, and other fields.
Prof. Paul Verkade (University of Bristol), an internationally recognized expert in correlative light and electron microscopy, will discuss recent developments in complex CLEM workflows and highlight modern applications.

Coffee breaks between sessions will provide ample opportunity for in-depth discussions and informal exchange. Guided laboratory tours can be arranged upon request during the breaks, and representatives from selected companies will be available to present their portfolios and answer questions.

The event will take place in seminar room 0.019 on the ground floor of the Medical Research Center on November 18th 2026, between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.. To ensure appropriate planning and avoid overbooking, we kindly ask all participants to register via this survey.
